The Center and its History thus far…...
The UCO Catholic Student Center has been in existence since 1995. Within the past four years the center has grown dramatically, and the future is bright for the construction of a new facility.
Two major successes for the center came when they hosted the 2001 and 2006 Annual State Convention at Our Lady of Guadalupe Youth Camp. Attendance was high, and the speakers were dynamic. Many said that the conferences were the best that they ever attended.
The Center Today: The center has offered many events both social and learning. There is the WOC prayer group (for woman only) on Monday night and Café Scriptura on Tuesday evening. The cafe is a coffee house with scripture study.
There is a Thursday evening Mass, and although it does not count for one’s Sunday obligation, it does provide graces for those long school weeks. It is usually well attended.
Sunday Night’s Soul Food Supper is the biggest event of the week, and it is the center’s biggest social activity which is mysteriously called the “X” activity.
